Funding Societies has raised US$25 million in equity investment from Japan’s sovereign wealth fund, Cool Japan Fund. This investment marks Cool Japan Fund’s first investment into a Southeast Asian fintech company.
With this funding, Funding Societies is poised to expand their footprint and bring even greater innovation to SME financing, bridging opportunities between Japan and Southeast Asia by providing financial services to support Japanese companies.
This raise follows other investments that Funding Societies has obtained in 2024, inclusive of a strategic equity investment from Khazanah Nasional and CGC Digital, Maybank, and a third annual credit facility from HSBC’s ASEAN Growth Fund.
