Qualgro is a venture capital firm holding a CMSL from MAS based in Singapore. We invest in startups in various sectors, especially those with B2B, Data/AI, and Software capabilities. We support talented entrepreneurs with regional or global growth ambitions. Qualgro invests primarily in Southeast Asia at Series A and B. Since 2015, we have made investments in over 30 companies, including familiar homegrown startups like Patsnap, Shopback, Funding Societies, as well as global renowned companies like Appier, Wavecell, Vend.
Qualgro is seeking a Finance & Operations Intern to join our team, to help with operational aspects of the funds and fund management company, including finance, operations, compliance, and aspects of portfolio management.
Role and Responsibilities include:
- Finance & Tax – prepare and support the Finance and reporting function of the funds and management company (i.e. from Audit, Tax, GST and Financial Reporting perspectives).
- Compliance & Legal & Company Secretarial – preparation of reporting and working with outsourced service providers to ensure that Qualgro is always compliant to the various regulatory bodies (eg. MAS, IRAS, ACRA, CIMA), including KYC checks.
- Investor Relations Reporting – prepare reporting to investors.
- Support investment documentation-related and portfolio-management activities – e.g., support with the operations aspect of closing an investment; collection of portfolio companies metrics; highlight potential key topics; review of preparation of funds’ NAV; preparation of cash flows and projected returns, etc.
- Liaise with service providers: auditors, fund administrators, tax advisors, lawyers, compliance advisors, etc.
- Regular interactions with our Investment Team and with start-ups.
- Other ad-hoc activities, when needed.
Candidate Profile:
- Must be able to take LOA and work full-time for 6 months.
- Pursuing a Degree in Accounting or Finance with good knowledge of key accounting and financial concepts.
- Previous internship experience in a fund management company with license from MAS, and/or fund administrator and/or audit in one of the Big 4 accounting firms (auditing fund management companies) will be an advantage.
- Strong technical skills in accounting/finance concepts, process management, and understanding of regulatory frameworks.
- Proficient in Microsoft office tools (excel, word, powerpoint), accounting software (i.e. Xero), etc.
- Effective and mature communication skills vis-à-vis both internal and external stakeholders.
